The Thief
Welcome to another adventure from the Thousand Acre Woods deep within Trollheim of the NJ Pine Belt! Tales Chronicled by Jonathan Hulton. That's me. Today I'm going to tell of the tale of how me and Bosco the Bear rushed to Karl's aid when his house was being robbed...
I was walking with Bosco through the Thousand Acre Woods, and as we just reached Trollheim, I noticed Karl running from his home. "Help! There is a thief in my house!" Karl was yelling franticly.
My first thought was, who would rob a Troll? “Is he still there?”
Bosco readied himself by squaring his shoulders.
“Why, I believe so?”
Bosco, being a bear, ‘barely’ waited before I could open the door and rushed in, roaring.
I followed, with Karl behind me.
At first glance, we found no one.
Then Karl began yelling, “Come out, come out, little thief!”
We checked every room, with Karl entering last and leaving first.
“Do you notice anything missing?” I asked hesitantly. Karl and Gramps eat some mysterious stuff from his garden...
“I’m not sure; there could be some things...”
“Well, how do you know there was a thief?”
Bosco sat on his rear hindquarters and gave a bemused look.
I was tossing and turning in my bed—when I remembered that thieves break into houses without a sound and move very, very quietly. I could hear nothing, so it was then I knew that there must be a thief in the house—you fool!”
Bosco swiped him in the ass and pushed through his front door.

Following the Harry N. Abrams, Inc. tradition of the series that created Brian Froud's and Alan Lee's Faeries and Gnomes by Wil Huygen and Rien Poortvliet, we present you with what would have been the next book in the series: Trolls: A Compendium. Trolls—do you think you know what they are? Could you be wrong?
Trolls within Scandinavian lore, myth, saga, fantasy, and folktales are actually anything magical within our northern neighbor's culture. Richly illustrated (over 600 paintings) in this volume are the tales of faeries, dwarves, nissen, huldras, gods, Jotuns, draugar, ghosts, and more. Also, this book introduces our readers to the world of Trollheim, populated by Nattrolls that escaped the 17th-century Swedish colony within the New Jersey Pine Barrens. Narrated by Christopher Jonathan Hulton, who lives in the Thousand Acre Woods just after the Civil War, their tales are filled with Native American lore and tales of their neighbor, the Jersey Devil.
